This is the original Russian-language film version of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel. Wih a production cost of over 100 million dollars this is the most expensive motion picture ever made. War and Peace was filmed entirely in Russia and it took over five years of active production to complete. The film had a cast of over 100,000 soldiers, 273 sets,2000 different costumes and art treasures from over 40 russian museums.
