The Jack Benny Show: The format for this show was well boned after two decades on radio. The transition to television was easy with Jack`s personality well established including his stinginess, his vanity about his age, his ancient "Maxwell" automobile and his lousy violin playing. Tonight`s show featured Bob Hope along with Eddie "Rochester" Anderson and Don Wilson. 30 min. "I Married Joan": This one-time fun-filled Friday special consisted of two "I Married Joan" episodes back to back. It featured the slightly wacky merry adventures of Joan Davis and Jim Backus starring as Judge and Joan Bradley Stevens. Getting in and out of trouble in this fast-paced half hour was Joan Davis`s tradmark, very similar to "I Love Lucy," which "Joan" mimicked right down to a husband dealing with a scatter-brained wife. 50 min Black and White.
