Associate Professor Sociocultural Anthropology and African and African-American Studies.
Dr. Parikh was honored as the recipient of the Emerson Excellence in Teaching award in November 2016. The Emerson Excellence in Teaching Awards program annually recognizes more than 100 educators in the St. Louis metropolitan area – from kindergarten teachers to college professors – who are examples of excellence in their field. Dr. Parikh was nominated by the Arts & Sciences Dean and the Washington University Teaching Center for her innovation and leadership in undergraduate teaching.

Dr. O'Leary has been selected for the “Rabel J. Burdge and Donald R. Field Outstanding Article Award,” for best general research article published in Society & Natural Resources during 2016. Her article titled "Between Stagnancy and Affluence: Reinterpreting water poverty and domestic flows in Delhi, India" was selected through the competitive process by Society & Natural Resources Editors and Editorial Board for its innovative and meaningful contribution to the study of society and natural resources and its great promise to be influential over time.
