Class Notes

1958
Laura McKie has two daughters and served more than 30 years for the U.S. government at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History.

1971
James Tibensky and Gail Eisenstein Tibensky, both graduates of Washington University, are married. Gail retired this year after 34 years teaching in the Chicago public schools.

1975
Marc S. Stern wrote a book entitled Letters for Bankruptcy Lawyers with Joel Pelofsky.

1976
David Rosene and his wife, Julie (1977), a professor at Carroll College, have two daughters, Emily and Erin. Emily is studying at Cornell University, and Emily is studying at Washington University. Julie is an Emmy-award winning television producer and founder of the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in Milwaukee. David is a practicing veterinarian.

1977
Janet Levy is president-elect of the Archaeology Division of the American Anthropological Association. She has completed 25 years as a faculty member at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

1978
Kate Moore and her husband, Fredrik Hiebert, have two sons, Peter (14) and James (8). This past summer Peter and James joined Kate in Bolivia where she was conducting fieldwork.

Wendy Reich has two children, Jonathan, a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard, and Sarah, who is doing a residency in pediatric medicine in Boston. She also has two grandchildren, Sophie and Sam.

1982
Stephen Easley has been married to his wife, Sue, a school counselor, for 31 years. They have two daughters, Ellyn (23) and Elysa (19).

Linda Nichols has three nationally funded studies designed to help caregivers manage behaviors and stress. She has also begun a telephone support group for dementia caregivers.

1985
Bret (Michael) Schneider and his wife, Elizabeth, have three children.

1986
Eric Holdener and his wife, Judy Holdener, a mathematician at Kenyon College, have one son, Chase.

1988
Cregg Madrigal recently published “The Derivation and Application of White-tailed Deer Utility Indices and Return Rates” in the Journal of Taphonomy 2(4): 185-199.

1989
Jan Thomas (Wilber) and her husband, a professor at Lyon College, have four children ranging in age from 13 to 1.

1990
Gillian Ice recently received an NSF grant to study nutrition among grandparents who are caring for orphans due to HIV/AIDS in Kenya.

1992
Bonnie Adrian received the Francis L.K. Hsu Book Prize for Framing the Bride: Globalization Beauty and Romance in Taiwan’s Bridal Industry (University of California Press, 2003).

Michele Penner Angrist and her husband have two sons.

1994
Philip Reno traveled to the Galapagos Islands and attended the World Summit on Evolution.

1995
Juliet Bulnes (Ricken) and her husband, Chris, both practicing dentists, have a son, Christian (3), and a newborn daughter, Caelyn.

1996
Seth Merritt married Michelle Erhardt in 2001.

2002
Amy Crystal was married September 4, 2005, to Joseph Regen, also a Washington University graduate.

Brian Howell and his wife, Marissa Sabio, have three children, Hannah (9), Sam (5), and Benjamin (2).

Marie Worley was married August 13, 2005.
