Emplacing Materiality, by Jasmine Mahmoud:  I wrote this blog post following the generative Material World of Modern Segregation Symposium in April 2017. I found the site visit portion of the symposium so unique and generative for scholarly thought and I wanted to think more about how to engage materials alongside people, and how embodied dialogues with meanings made within place.
